Arundel Lodge Supports Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine — Arundel Lodge #76 was proud to recently welcome and host this year’s Kennebunk High School representatives to the Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic: Maxx Andrews, Brady Stone, Charlie Majkowski, and Abbie Santerre.

In support of their fundraising efforts, the Lodge pledged to donate $500 in each student’s name, for a total of $2,000. In addition, and in honor of Brother Scotty Faulkner, Arundel Lodge will donate an additional $1,000, bringing the Lodge’s total contribution this year to $3,000.

The Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic is widely recognized as one of the premier high school athletic events in the state. Each year, more than 140 all-star football players and cheerleaders from over 60 high school programs across Maine are nominated and selected to take part in the event. Beyond athletics, the game serves a greater purpose by raising money to support Shriners Children’s and its mission of providing specialized care to children in need.

Since 1990, fundraising connected to the Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic has generated nearly $750,000 in net proceeds for Shriners Children’s. These donations help support a network of nonprofit hospitals across North America that provide care to children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate, and other specialized medical needs, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

The connection is especially meaningful to many members of Arundel Lodge, as one must first be a Mason to become a Shriner, and several members of the Lodge are proud Shriners themselves.

Arundel Lodge is honored to support these student representatives, the Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic, and the charitable mission behind it. Through efforts like these, the Lodge continues its commitment to charity, community, and service.
