Arundel Lodge Celebrates Most Improved Student Night

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine — On May 30, 2025, Arundel Lodge #76 held one of its most cherished annual programs: Most Improved Student Night.

For more than ten years, the Lodge has hosted this special evening to recognize students from Kennebunkport Consolidated School who have shown meaningful improvement over the course of the school year. Chosen by their teachers using their own criteria, students may be recognized for academic growth, social growth, or both.

This year’s event welcomed more than 70 students, family members, and teachers to the Lodge for an evening of food, recognition, and celebration. After sharing a meal together, teachers had the opportunity to recognize each student’s achievements, while Lodge members presented gifts in honor of their hard work. For many of the students, the evening was a chance to be celebrated in front of their families and teachers and to take pride in how far they had come.

Arundel Lodge extended its thanks to the staff of Kennebunkport Consolidated School for their continued support of the program and for the work they do for students throughout the year. The Lodge also recognized the many people who helped make the evening possible, including the kitchen crew led by WB Gary Bennett, VW Dan Gaucher for photography, and Rococo’s Ice Cream, which once again donated dessert for the event.

Special thanks were also given to WB Brian MacDonald and the line officers for helping lead the evening, as well as to Jack Kudas, a KCS graduate and current member of Arundel Lodge, whose book Windows in Heaven was given to each student as part of this year’s awards.

In addition to dinner and recognition, each student received a gift bag from the Lodge that included gift cards to Raptor Falls and Rococo’s Ice Cream, along with other fun gifts.

Programs like Most Improved Student Night reflect the values Arundel Lodge strives to uphold in the community. As Freemasons, members are guided by the principles of integrity, friendship, respect, and charity — values that continue to shape the Lodge’s efforts to support and encourage local students and families.
