Alcohol Awareness Month Proclamation Presented at Arundel Lodge #76

Community partners gathered at Arundel Lodge #76 on April 10 as the 2026 Governor’s Proclamation declaring April as Alcohol Awareness Month was formally presented.

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine— Members of the Prevention Collaborative of the Kennebunks gathered at Arundel Lodge #76 on April 10 for the presentation of the 2026 Governor’s Proclamation declaring April as Alcohol Awareness Month.

According to the collaborative, the group helped draft the document that ultimately became the statewide proclamation. Maine Rep. Daniel Sayre, who supported the proclamation as it moved through the state process, presented the signed version to Kennebunk Police Chief Bob MacKenzie during the gathering at the lodge.

The meeting was hosted by Jim Black, Master of Arundel Lodge #76, who also committed the lodge’s support for additional collaborative activities. That support includes sponsoring decals and posters for Project Sticker Shock, an alcohol awareness initiative, as well as helping support other prevention efforts expected to be unveiled in the near future.

Organizers said partnerships like these are a key part of sustaining grassroots prevention work. By contributing time, resources, and local support, community members and organizations help strengthen initiatives centered on education, awareness, and prevention.

The Prevention Collaborative of the Kennebunks thanked everyone involved in the effort and encouraged others in the community to get involved.
